The LA list: What to do in LA in June 2024

From a buzzy night market to a petrolhead's dream day out, these are the best things to do in L.A. this June

What was the golden hour are now the golden hours, palm tree shadows stretching for miles. It’s safe to say that Los Angeles wears summer well, making June the perfect time to get into the city and amongst the action. Whether you’re born and bred or visiting for the first time, these are the dates to jot in your diary. Imagine Rodeo Drive but with even more Ferraris…

Rodeo Drive Concours D'Elegance

As if Rodeo Drive wasn’t filled with enough hypercars, The annual Concours D’Elegance brings upwards of 100 of the world’s most exciting automobiles to Beverly HIlls. Naturally, this event takes place annually on Father’s Day. Meticulously resto-modded classics, retired race cars, flagship Paganis and other outrageous exotics will grace the streets from 10am to 4pm. The Concours will be raising proceeds for first responders and their families through the Beverly Hills Police Officers Association and the Beverly Hills Firefighters’ Association.

Stay Zero Proof

A magic pill that completely rids one of a hangover doesn’t exist yet. We’ve tried all the tricks to no avail. The late night greasy food, the sparkling water before bed, only drinking clear alcohol… you name it, we’ve exhausted it. But then Stay Zero Proof came along and gave us a shot at a better tomorrow. This so-called-bar in Chinatown is a sober bar. Complete with neon signs, bar stools, and a craft mocktail menu, it seems to walk and talk like a duck. We’ve been drinking “The Dragon” for a little kick. Imagine a spicy margarita but you can drive home.

Barnsdall Art Park Wine Tastings

After a five-year hiatus, Friday nights chez Hollyhock are back. The setting is the famed Barnsdall Art Park and Hollyhock House, designed by Frank Lloyd Wright in 1921. The wine is supplied by Silverlake Wine, a boutique shop renowned for its in-depth knowledge of small-batch French vineyards. The hilltop provides 360-degree views of Los Angeles. As a result of all of the above, the tickets have a tendency to sell out rather quickly, so chop chop.

Copa America - Brazil vs. Costa Rica

On June 24, 2024, Brazil will face Costa Rica at SoFi Stadium. Historically favoured to win against any team, this year’s squad will surely bring lots of goals and thus, entertainment. In fact, Neymar Jr. is the Brazilian national team’s top goal scorer in history. With all of that said, Costa Rica has given Brazil trouble in the past and bookies are expecting them to take home at least one goal. No matter who wins, the energy in SoFi is going to be thunderous.

Night Market at The Bungalow

Bungalow, a nightlife landmark in Los Angeles, is bringing back its summer Thursday Night Market on a weekly basis for the summer. In true Los Angeles fashion, the bartenders of the evening will be none other than Jason Momoa serving up cocktails made with his own vodka, Meili, as well as Aaron Paul mixing drinks with his mezcal, Dos Hombres. That’s a combination we didn’t know we needed but we’re not mad about it.

Breathwork Ice Bath Class

In a city so consistently summery that the palm trees are wrapped in Christmas lights during the holidays, an ice bath always sounds refreshing. Although Wim Hof and cold plunges have taken the world by icy storm, Remedy Place in West Hollywood has exploded in popularity. Founder Dr. Jonathan Leary believes in educating people in order to help them heal themselves. They don’t just have a plunge pool and cryo chambers. They also offer a class that teaches holotropic breathwork before the plunge. Remedy Place takes healing practices and makes them more effective.
